Mods Guide

The mod is the power source of your vaping device. It also contains buttons to control your vaping experience and usually has a screen so that you check your settings.

Choosing a mod

Will my mod come with a battery?

Some mods come with a non-removable battery installed inside, whereas others do not come with a battery. Instead, they have a removable panel which allows you install your own 18650 or 26650 battery, which you would buy separately. The advantages of an integrated battery are: 1) Save on the price of a battery; 2) Avoid battery panel gaps in the mod hardware. The advantages of a non-integrated battery are: 1) If your batteries die, you can replace the batteries instead of having to charge the mod - great for travel; 2) You can choose which batteries you want to use

Will my mod come charged?

Mods that come with integrated batteries are usually shipped with 70% charged. It is recommended that you charge your batteries fully before use

What is variable voltage?

More mods come with variable-voltage settings that control how much power is sent to the coil, which will determine how hot the coil will become when firing. The hotter the coil, the more vapour your tank will produce

What is mAh?

Battery capacity is measured in milliamps (mAh). mAh stands for milli-ampere-hours, which is a measurement of the amount of energy the battery can store. The higher this number is, the more energy it can store. More energy means longer use-time in between charges. This has nothing to do with the output voltage. Higher mAh also means it will take longer to charge and it usually also means that the battery will be larger and last longer

What is temperature control (TC)?

TC allows you set the maximum temperature that your coil can be heated to. For example, if you fire your mod for 10 seconds at 40 watts, the coil will keep getting hotter and hotter throughout that time, and will probably end up burning your cotton during those 10 seconds. But if you have set your TC to, say, 215 degrees centigrade (the burning point of cotton), your mod will regulate the heat so that the coil never gets hot enough to burn. TC is getting better all the time, but at the moment the technology isn’t always accurate

What is sub-ohm vaping?

Sub-ohm means anything below 1.0 ohm. The main variable of a coil is the resistance, which is measured in ohms. The higher the ohm, the more resistance there is to the current flowing through the coil, therefore lowering the maximum heat level of the coil; the lower the ohm, the less resistance there is to the current, therefore allowing the coil to get much hotter. The lower the ohm of the coil, the hotter the coil gets, and therefore with appropriate airflow it can produce much higher volumes of vapour - otherwise known as cloud chasing

What is the difference between tube and box style mods?

In principle, there isn’t much difference between the 2 styles except that new vapers may feel more familiar with a tube shape. However, because of the nature of the design, it’s less likely for a tube-style mod to have a screen and buttons, which diminishes the possibility for customising the heat setting of your vape. Box-style mods also stand up better on tables without falling over, but tube-style mods fit better in a pocket. Also, tube-style mods tend to have smaller batteries, thereby producing less vape time between charges

What is the firing pin?

The firing pin is the small protruding circular piece inside the threading well, where your tank screws on. Most mods come with a spring-loaded firing pin. This solves the problem that can develop when the firing pin is pushed down into the mod by the force of the tank, which can result in the mod not firing. If you have a non-spring loaded firing pin on your mod, and you notice that it is not firing, use a small screwdriver to just nudge the firing pin upwards slightly

Can I use any mod with my tank?

Unless you have an ego style tank or mod (older style), all tanks can be used with all mod, using the industry standard 510 threaded connection. If you have an ego style device, you can use an adapter.

Using Your Mod

How do I charge my mod?

Most mods can be charged by simply plugging in a micro-USB cable and connecting it to a computer or a wall outlet adapter. It’s best not to leave your battery charging unattended overnight. You may want to charge your batteries in an external charger for extra safety

How long will it take for my battery to charge?

Depending on the size of your battery and how many batteries you mod uses, it usually takes between 4 - 5 hours on average for your mod to fully charge from a USB cable connected to your computer. You can speed up this time by using a USB wall adapter.

How do I turn on my mod?

Ensure that the batteries are inserted the correct way and that your mod is charged. Then press the fire button 5 times. This is also how you would switch it off. To use your mod, simply press the firing button. This sends an electrical charge through the firing pin, up into the atomiser coil, turning the coil red-hot and vapourising the liquid soaked into the surrounding cotton wicking material.

What wattage setting should my mod be on?

Everybody likes to vape their own way, so the best way to get the correct wattage setting is to start low (10 watts), and gradually raise the wattage until it feels right to you.

Why won't my mod charge?

Ensure that the batteries are inserted the correct way, and check that the charger cable you are using is the correct charger for the mod. We recommend that you only purchase charging cable from our website to ensure that they work correctly and safely. If this problem persists, please get in touch with our customer services
